In the week of 14–20 September, Tesla recorded roughly 11,100 sales across ten European markets — its strongest week of 2026 so far. Days later, Tesla Europe confirmed that 100,000 Teslas are now on Danish roads. And in the last seven days, five more Superchargers opened in Sweden, Norway and Italy.

None of that is a camping story on its own. But put it together and it changes the maths of owning a Tesla in Europe — especially if you use yours to sleep in. Here is what actually happened, and why it matters the next time you point the car at a campsite.

The Week That Broke 2026’s Record

The sales figures come from a well-known EV analyst on X who compiles daily and weekly registration data across ten markets that report frequently — the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Czechia and Iceland — together estimated to cover around 60% of Tesla’s European sales. The week of 14–20 September looked like this:

Measure

Result

Sales, week of 14–20 Sep 2026

~11,100 cars

Change vs previous week

+73.5%

Change vs same week 2025

+101.6%

Year-to-date

+14.8%

One honest caveat, because weekly registration data is noisy: over the full twelve weeks of the third quarter, sales in those markets were still down about 6.5% against the second quarter, although up roughly 7.5% year on year. So this is a strong quarter-end push, not a permanent new normal. German media reported that Giga Berlin ordered mandatory special shifts in September to lift weekly Model Y output from under 6,500 to 7,500 cars by mid-October — which is exactly the kind of move that produces a week like this one.

Denmark: 100,000 Teslas, and Double That in Three Years

The cleanest illustration of how fast this has happened is Denmark. On 23 September, Tesla Europe marked 100,000 Teslas on Danish roads — a fleet that has doubled in just three years. The previous milestone, 50,000 cars, was reached in September 2023. Back in 2018, when the country’s regional lead joined the company, there were just over 4,000.

The Model Y did most of the work. It broke Denmark’s single-year sales record in 2023 with 12,944 deliveries, beating a mark held since 2013 by the Volkswagen Up!, and it topped the charts again in September 2025 with Danish Tesla sales up 20.5%.

Denmark is also a useful test case for the software side: the transport authority granted provisional approval for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) there in June 2026, making it one of the first European nations to clear the system.

Five New Superchargers — Right Where You Camp

This is the part that actually changes a trip plan. Between 21 and 28 September, five new European Supercharger stations went live:

Location

Stalls

Why it matters

Kungsbacka, Sweden

20

On the E6 just south of Gothenburg — the coast road

Gävle, Sweden

12

E4 north of Stockholm, gateway to the northern lakes

Åre, Sweden

8

The country’s biggest ski resort, opened ahead of winter

Olrud, Norway

8

Near Hamar on the E6, the route toward Lillehammer

Boara Pisani, Italy

8

Veneto, on the A13 between Padua and Bologna

Note where three of the five are: Sweden and Norway, on routes people drive to ski resorts, lakes and mountains. And Åre opened deliberately ahead of the winter season. That is Tesla building charging exactly where cold-weather camping and skiing happens, not just on commuter corridors. Two more sites — Liepāja in Latvia and Raseborg in Finland — moved into construction the same week, so the Nordic and Baltic map keeps filling in.

What a Bigger European Tesla Fleet Means for You

Three practical consequences, none of them exciting and all of them useful:

Charging keeps arriving where you are going. More cars sold means more sites justified, and the last week alone added five.

The used market is getting deep. Three years of record growth — Denmark doubled its fleet in that time — means far more second-hand Model Ys to choose from if you are buying your first camping car.

You are no longer the odd one out at the pitch. Camp Mode, a silent night and no generator are increasingly normal on European campsites, and the accessory market has grown up around it.

If you are one of the newcomers, here is the short list that turns the car into a base camp:

Tesla Roof Top Tent — the one upgrade that makes it a camper rather than a car with a boot.

2048Wh LiFePO4 Portable Power Station — your own mains socket anywhere, so pitch choice stops being about electricity.

35L Dual-Zone Compressor Fridge — real food for several days, no campsite shop required.

Tesla Trunk Organiser Box — so packing for a 7am departure takes minutes.

Tesla Inflatable Air Mattress — the quick setup for nights when you cannot be bothered with the tent.

The Bottom Line

A record European sales week, 100,000 Teslas in one small country, and five fresh Superchargers including one at a ski resort opened specifically for winter. Individually these are headlines you scroll past. Together they say the same thing: there are more Teslas on European roads than ever, the map keeps getting denser, and the off-grid camping version of that is easier to pull off than it was a year ago. If you have been waiting for the network to feel ready before your first real trip out — the 2048Wh LiFePO4 Portable Power Station and the Tesla Roof Top Tent are ready now.

Something quietly important happened in Europe over the past fortnight, and almost nobody outside the EV bubble noticed.
