Two things happened this week that every European camper should know about. First, Caravan Salon Austria<\/strong> confirmed its 2026 edition in Wels from 14 to 18 October<\/strong> \u2014 and its newest hall is dedicated entirely to vanlife. Second, the autumn campsite deals just went live with temperatures still around 22\u00b0C<\/strong> in half of southern Europe. Put them together and the message is simple: the season is not over, and you do not need a motorhome to enjoy it.<\/p>\n

The Show: Bigger, and Built Around Vanlife<\/h2>\n

Caravan Salon Austria runs at Messe Wels from Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18 October 2026. The numbers are up across the board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The interesting bit is the layout. A brand-new Hall 22<\/strong> will host the adVANture<\/em> theme zone \u2014 vanlife, self-built conversions and off-road setups. There is also a new premium Hall 19<\/strong> for used vehicles, plus the Camping Summit and the second Camping Star awards.<\/p>\n

Read that again: the fastest-growing area of Europe\u2019s camping industry is car-based camping<\/strong>. Not giant motorhomes. People want a normal vehicle that sleeps them comfortably and goes off-grid. That is exactly what a Tesla plus a rooftop tent already is.<\/p>\n
